Vehicle Description 2005 Jaguar X-Type Sportwagon In 2001 Jaguar (Ford) introduced the X-Type saloon, a compact, luxury 4 door, in typical jaguar style.
The most interesting factor was the all wheel drive.
Just a few years later, in 2005, they offered an estate wagon and this case, a sportwagon.
Powered by a 3L V6 that put out roughly 227 HP and 200 lbft of torque, this wagon will go 0-60 in just less than 8 seconds, not too bad for a station wagon.
The X-Type sportwagon also came with AWD and all the usual Jaguar amenities.
This particular, 4 owner car, in Platinum Silver Metallic (MDZ) over Warm Charcoal leather (LEG), has 118,000 miles and has been well serviced throughout it's life time.
Originally sold near Albany, NY, it stayed in that area until 2007 when it migrated into northwest CT and was serviced primarily at Litchfield Ford and other local garages.
The current, 4th owner, is a long time Jaguar Club member and in her ownership, has been cared for locally and by several Jaguar club members.
The exterior paint is in good condition, with what would be considered normal wear and tear to the paint, a few minor scratches and chips here and there.
The passenger fender was replaced two years ago due to a dent that was found to be easier to replace the fender than try to fix.
The interior is in very nice shape and all the electronics work.
The real wood dash veneer is also in very nice condition.
The car is equipped as mentioned, as most Jaguars are expected to be in plush luxury, driving ability and safety Or Grace, Space and Pace as the ads of the 60's and 70's represented.
Some of the items this car is equipped with:
All wheel drive; auto lights, fog lights, special driving lights, Xenon headlights; power steering; power, 4 wheel disc brakes; 17 aluminum wheels, General G-Max tires; rain sensing, intermittent wipers; cruise control; touch screen audio, NAV and climate controls; 8 way power, heated seats; air bags; 6 speed auto-trans with sport mode and manual shift mode; power sliding sunroof; premium Alpine stereo system, Sirius satellite radio; fold down rear seats, removable cargo cover, rear netting and on and on.
It IS a Jaguar after all.
The car runs and drives excellently, accelerates strong and straight and brakes the same.
The one issue this car has are two spots of non-structural rot, one on either side, just in front of the rear wheels, hidden up behind the plastic sill plates.
Despite that, this car is ready to go and can easily be driven another 100K miles if cared for as well as it has been up to now.
Originally priced upwards of $40,000, this car is now available for much less than that and a bit less than most of the pricing guides.
$4800 will put this Jaguar Sport wagon in your garage.
